YOT Day 50 - Have a (free) seat

Omega and I have been married for...umm...hold on...let me think...count on my fingers...4 and a half years! (Right?)

In that time, we have only bought (new) three furniture items.
1.  The recliner in Larzipan's room for when he was born (Big Lots: $69.00)
2.  Leatherish ottoman in the entryway (sometimes other rooms) (Wal-Mart: $49.00)
3. Xbox stand in the pub (Wal-Mart: $50 ish)

That is all.  In this time, though, we have gone through many couches.  We are currently on number 10 & 11.  Yeah, just in 4.5 years and most of them were free.  None from Craigslist either!

Today, this YOT Day 50, I am thankful for our friends for giving us free couches over the years!!

Thank you to my amazing friends that keep us furnished and comfy for free.  We appreciate each and every one of your couches!  Honestly, we really do.

Hardaways: 1 green couch / 1 green loveseat
My parents: 1 floral loveseat
Bear: 1 nice black leather sofa
Heather: 1 red sofa and 1 floral loveseat
Yargers Sr.: 1 sleeper sofa
Random friend of Brad's that I don't even know his name: 1 sofa with wood arms / 1 loveseat with wood arms

I actually think there may have been more, but I am not remembering.

We are couch magnets! We usually upgrade.  Although this last venture was not as beneficial for us.  These were two we actually paid for ($60 each).  One is great! We love it!  The other, while it was a bit broken to begin with, got a lot more broken getting maneuvered into the house.  It had been a day full of furniture moving and this was the last one...it just did not get as much love as the others.

It will be a bittersweet day when we go and have to buy a new couch.  It will have no memories, injuries, stories, or personalities yet; it's origin may never end up in a blog post. But, on the other hand, we will have to teach it everything; all of the ways of the world.  We will be the ones, though, to give it its first stains (probably Larzipan), we will be the ones to teach it that it WILL be moved around often in this house, but that doesn't mean we love it any less than the other 3 couches in the house, we will be the ones to tend to its wounds when Larzipan mistakes it for a trampoline, ours will be the cats that keep it warm when we are away.

It will be looking for a new home soon (for free, of course, we need to keep up our good karma!).  Someone can probably fix it.  Just not us.  Hey, if you want it, just let me know!  No guarantees about how it works when you get it out of here though.  But, it is free!

Picture: not our house or the actual sofa but an exact replica of it! Recliners on both ends.
